
Artist and writer Calef Brown is the author and illustrator of thirteen books for children including Polkabats and Octopus Slacks: 14 Stories (1998) ; Flamingos on the Roof: Poems and Paintings (2006), a New York Times bestseller, and most recently, The Ghostly Carousel (2018). Brown’s illustrations have appeared in Newsweek, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Time, and many other publications. He has taught illustration at the Otis College of Art and Design, Art Center College of Design, Emily Carr University, and he is currently an associate professor at Rhode Island School of Design.
