Shannon Freshwater is an illustrator and fine artist who uses collage and assemblage to reflect emotion and to examine ideas of the self. She grew up in the bizarre landscape of Las Vegas but currently lives in Los Angeles where she teaches in the illustration department at Art Center College of Design and California State University Northridge. Her clients include The New York Times, The Washington Post, Scientific American, Le Monde, Knopf and Little Brown among others. She has exhibited her collage and assemblage work across the US and several of her book covers are included in the permanent collection of AIGA.
